It’s a rare but blessed moment when the vision and provision from an eight year old boy is manifested across the country. One of our biggest cheerleaders and supporters for our trip was Noah Krause. With the help of his mom, Carissa, Noah raked leaves, washed cars, baked a lot of cookies and raised quite a bit to contribute to our trip. With what he raised, as a team, we decided to bring that on the trip to find a way to bless someone who was in need that we might meet while in New York.

What we witnessed
today and yesterday was a divine appointment that was planned long before we
stepped onto the job site. Brother Davises, a man who moved to New York from
Jamaica to start a better life, happened to be riding his bike past the church
where we were working but there was a bit of a problem with the bike. The least
of the problems was the flat tire.
It did not take
long to realize that what Noah had raised, at least some of the money, needed
to go to Brother Davises whether it be for a new bike or merely a new tire. We
were able to talk with him that day and learn more of his story. He had lost
nearly everything in Super Storm Sandy. Later, a tire was patched, Brother
Davises promised he would be back during in the week as he rode off with his
bike. But as he rode off, all of us were hoping that we would be able to find him
a new bike at some point, despite his excitement at merely being able to ride
the bike again since it is his only mode of transportation.
Yesterday
evening, a new hefty bike was purchased and taken to the job site. It did not take
long for Brother Davises to come back and visit again. With excitement, we were
able to present the bike to him. He remained speechless and overwhelmed for a
few moments before all he could do was say his thanks and praise the Lord for
the blessing he received. Once he found words again, he called his wife, stoked
for her to see his new bike.
He was also told
that there was a young boy back in Washington that truly made the bike possible
and Brother Davises did get the chance to thank him on the phone which was
huge. Later that evening, he rode off on what he called his Rolls Royce.
We may have built
several floors, painted a few rooms, and hung doors, but as we’ve been told, it’s
all about the relationships we build. Brother Davises reminded us why we are
here and what we are here for. We’re here for people. We don’t know how long
that bike may remain or long the paint will stay on the walls but being able to
touch someone’s life is something that last for eternity. Noah’s vision allowed
a man to get a new bike and have his transportation back. Praise the Lord for
God moving in Noah’s heart to provide something very awesome for a fantastic
man of God!
Praising Jesus for his new ride with a KISS.
He requested a group picture.
Off he goes...
